Glasspool round up

Today has seen further reactions to the consecration of Mary Glasspool ranging from anger and bitterness here and here , to delight here.

Vic the Vicar laments that, certainly for the British media, this seems to be a non event. He is clearly frustrated that he fears Rowan Williams will do nothing. However, Williams has made some noises warning about the impact of TEC's actions and there will certainly be pressure on him from certain quarters. My advice is not to hold your breath while waiting, but we will see.

  1. Vic is a vapour rub which is effective when one's tubes are all bunged up. Obviously, Vic the Vicar needs unstuffing to prevent any more verbal catarrh coming out of his evangelical gob.

Vic the Vicar (and others) seem to want the Archbishop of Canterbury to behave as badly as other Primates in the Anglican Communion - by publishing private letters all over the internet. That's not the way to do pastoral business, and conservative evangelicals ought to know that.
It would also be interesting to know whether Vic the Vicar would even accept that Mary Glasspool were actually a bishop: she is a woman and many conservative evangelicals would not accept that she could ever be a bishop. If they have now moved on that point, we are beginning to get somewhere. But if they don't actually think she can be a bishop, what does it matter about her sexuality?
